Colmar Tropicale Berjaya Hills hotel

November 3rd, 2009 | by admin |

I spent my last weekend with my family at Colmar Tropicale Berjaya Hills Pahang also known at Berjaya Bukit Tinggi Hotel. It was a spontaneous holiday planned. We managed to book a Superior Room for RM273.00 for 1 night stay from Saturday & Sunday.

Its only 40 to 60 minutes drive from Kuala Lumpur to Bukit Tinggi. We start our journey at 2pm and expecting to arrive Colmar Tropicale Berjaya Hills at 3pm. The check-in time at Berjaya Hills hotel is 3pm. Somehow that particular Saturday we were stuck in a very bad traffic jam at Jalan Kuching, it took us nearly an hour to reach TESCO nearby Jalan Kuching.  We reached Berjaya Bukit Tinggi Hotel nearly at 4pm.

Its not that difficult to get to Colmar Tropicale Berjaya Hills, just follow the Kuatan signboard. You’ll be taking the famous Karak Highway. You’ll first pass Genting Highlands, then around 20KM further you’ll see the Bukit Tinggi signboard, and take a left turn. From here onwards It will be a winding road, you’ll be reaching the hotel in another 5 – 10 minutes.

The main reason I’m writing this post is to share with you all the condition of Colmar Tropicale Berjaya Hills hotel. Personally I don’t think it deserve a  5 or even a 4 star hotel rating. I had a very high expectation base on the information given from its official website http://www.berjayahotel.com/berjayahills/index.asp unfortunately its not as what I’ve expected!

Our Superior room was located on the same level as the parking space, below the hotel lobby. Further more that particular floor is currently on maintenance, they were fixing the ceiling, tiles and restoring the paint. Smells of  the wet paint was irritating.

The Superior room was not as what I’ve imagined. I think the room also needed some maintenance and upgrade. From a glance of it, it was OK, but if you look carefully its just not acceptable for a 4 or 5 start rated hotel.

The view from a lower level floor was not appealing at all!

Another thing is that, NO high speed broadband was available in the room, not even at the hotel lobby. But according to one of the hotel crew member, WIFI connection is available at the castle building of Colmar Tropicale Berjaya Hills hotel. Not sure if the WIFI was really functioning as i did not bother to test the connection.

Fyi, the baby coat will cost you RM60.00 per night.

Personally I was not satisfied with the condition of the hotel and its room, they should not allocated such room on a floor that are currently under maintenance. Colmar Tropicale Berjaya Hills hotel is definitely getting a very poor rating from me.

Hi there. Thank you for your honest review about this hotel which is located in Bukit Tinggi, Pahang. Although not as popular as Bukit Tinggi in Sumatra, Indonesia, the one in Pahang is still attracting visitors.

Bukit Tinggi is also not really far from Kuala Lumpur but perhaps the main reason to go there could be because the visitor wants to escape the busy days in the workplace as Bukit Tinggi seems to be the enclave in the midst of forest and mountains.

I found this post helps anybody to consider whether or not to stay here in the hotel. Anyway thanks for the info shared.

I just came back from Colmar Tropicale yesterday. It is by far the worst place I’ve ever been to. I would give it a 2 out of 10 score. I reached there at about 1pm. The check-in time is 3pm. But I waited till 6.30pm to finally step into the hotel room. There was NO RABBIT in the rabbit park. I couldn’t let my children ride the horses as they were short of staff. The room condition was bad… huh? What 5 Star? I will never go there ever again and will discourage anyone who has the intention to.
