Malaysia International Fireworks Competition 2008

This year will be the 2nd year Malaysia is organizing its Malaysia International Fireworks Competition (MIFC). MIFC will be held at Putrajaya International Convention Center (PICC), Putrajaya, in the month of August, celebrating the Malaysian Independence Month well known among us as MERDEKA.

The competition for Golden Merdeka Trophy begins from 12, 16, 20, 24 & 29 August 2008. The fireworks show time starts at 9:30pm. Take this opportunity to watch the sky being lighted up with impressive fireworks displays. It will be featuring various countries vying to create grand theatre of pyrotechnics.

Among the team competing will be from Malaysia, China, Canada, Spain and Australia. The Malaysia team will be performing on 12 August, follow by China, Canada, Spain and Australia. The fireworks competition will only last for 25minutes every night as per stated date.

The event is FREE for all! The Malaysian Ministry of Tourism has prepared all the necessary to improve the event from last year mistake and ensure this event will be successful one.

Speakers will be installed at the public viewing locations, enabling the spectators to enjoy the Musical Fireworks Display.

Personally, I’ve experience the MIFC 2007, it was great, but make sure you be there as early as possible and find your best spot to view the fireworks. As time approaching the show time, there will be lots of cars wondering around the PICC trying to park their car and thus creating a heavy traffic. If you are late, most probably you’ll just be listening to the sounds of fireworks!
