Brief history about Malaysia
During the early days, Malaysia was known as “Tanah Melayu” or “Malaya” which derived from the word Malay. Islam religion established in Malaysia as early as 14th centuries and influences the Malay people since then.  Portuguese was the first outsider who captures Malaysia, building their base in Melaka (Malacca) in 1515 – one of the famous date most Malaysian students will remember, they thought this in our history class. Malaysia was then invaded by the Dutch, followed by British and Japan in World War II.  It was in 31 August 1957; Tanah Melayu (Peninsula of Malaysia) received its independence, forming multinational race of Tanah Melayu which consist of Malay, Chinese, India. Malaysia
Kuala Lumpur is the capital city of Malaysia, as mentioned above Malaysia comprises of Peninsular Malaysia and the states of Sabah and Sarawak on Borneo Island.  The Peninsular Malaysia is separated from Sabah and Sarawak by the South China Sea. Malaysia has an estimated population of 27.17 million
Malaysia Truly Asia
Its true – Malaysia Truly Asia, why is that? Coz we have most of Asian races here in a small country call Malaysia. During the old days, we have Malay, Chinese & India. Now in 20th centuries, we have Indonesian, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Philippines people, making a decent living and contributing to Malaysia economy. Now Malaysia is truly full of cultures colours

Malaysia is a multiracial country, Malaysia have their own unique cultural identities,  with Islam as main religion and majority Malays ethnic, followed by Chinese and Indian with their religious believe. Each major religious has its Public Holiday.

The Malaysia major public holoiday are Hari Raya Aidilfitri (2 days), Hari Raya Aidiladha, Awal Muharram, Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday, Chinese New Year (2 days), Deepavali, Christmas, Labour day, Wesak Day, Agong’s Birthday, National Independence Day (Merdeka), Malaysia Day. IF public holiday falls on Sunday, Monday will be replace as public holiday and if public holiday falls on Saturday, some companies give Friday holiday.
The Malaysia weather
Malaysia have tropical weather all year-round, with temperatures are from 21ºC (70ºF) to 32ºC (90ºF). Higher elevations are much colder with temperatures between 15°C (59° F) to 25°C (77°F). Annual rainfall varies from 2,000mm to 2,500mm. Malaysia raining season is from October ~ January.
Language
Bahasa Melayu is Malaysia national language, majority of Malaysian speaks English fluently.  English is also widely use here in Malaysia
Religion

Currency The Ringgit Malaysia (RM) exchange rate USD1 = RM3.15. All foreign currencies can be exchanged at banks and money changers.

Banking Hours For most of the Malaysia state, the banking hours is from Monday- Friday, 9.30 am to 4.30 pm. Closed on every Saturday,  Sunday and public holiday, but some major banks in major city of Malaysia opened on  Saturday. In Kelantan and Terengganu, the banking hours is from Sunday – Wednesday, 9.30 am to 4.30 pm, while on Thursday it is opened from  9.30 am to 4.00 pm. Closed on Friday, Saturday and public holiday

Post Office Operation Hours The Malaysia Post Office open daily from  9.00 am to 5.00 pm daily, closed on first Saturdays of every month, Sundays, and public holidays. In Kelantan and Terengganu the Malaysia Post Office operates at the same time, but is closed on Fridays and public holidays.

Time Eight hours ahead of GMT, London and 16 hours ahead of U.S Standard Time.

Electricity voltage is 220 – 240 Volt AC at 50 cycles per second. Standard 3- pin square plugs and socket.
