Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport – Travelling with Rayyan

November 21st, 2009 | by amdTaufik |

I safely arrived Bangkok with my son Rayyan. He is only 1 year 2 month old.  It’s not easy to travel with an infant, you need all the extra help you can have.  That is why we took Malaysia Airlines (MAS) as they provided all the necessary help they can.

Stuff that I was carrying

  • 1 18inch trolley beg, full of Rayyan’s stuff
  • Stroller
  • Hand carry beg, full of Rayyan’s stuff (milk, pampers & stuff required on the go)
  • Pouch beg, for important stuff

Checks in the trolley beg. Need the stroller as I think Rayyan is about to sleep and it will be easier for me to move around with him sleeping in the stroller as we have another 2 hours to kill before boarding the flight.

You can push your stroller till it reach the door of your flight, the cabin crew assistant will then keep it safely in flight cargo for you. At Bangkok, they do the same thing, taking it out for me to use at the airport.

It’s not an offend to bring mineral water on board when you flying with infant, they understand as you might need it to prepare the milk.

It’s a 2 hours journey from KLIA to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi  airport. Our flight take off around 1:00PM, we reach Bangkok at 2:00PM Bangkok time. Bangkok is 1 hour behind compare to Malaysia Time. By the time we reach Bangkok Suvarnabhumi airport Malaysia time was 3PM.

I was lucky Rayyan continue his sleep on our journey to Bangkok. As I was holding him, there was no way for me to enjoy my lunch on the aircraft. Told the stewardess to reserved it for later. Obviously we were the last one to go out, easier that way.

Rayyan woke up the moment we reach Bangkok Suvarnabhumi airport. He was sitting on his stroller, clueless and enjoying Bangkok airport as we were heading towards the immigration counter.

We were given special privilege from the Bangkok  Suvarnabhumi airport immigration by not queuing at the Foreign Passport Counter. They allow us to go thru the Local / Thai Passport Counter, it makes our journey simpler and enjoyable, thank you very much for their support.
