The Singapore Ministry of Education is pleased to offer the ASEAN Scholarships to outstanding students for student in secondary schools and junior colleges in Singapore, leading to the General Certificate of Education ‘Advanced Level (or equivalent) Examination. Those who score good grades in the GCE ‘A’ Level Examination may continue their undergraduate studies at the
· National University of Singapore (NUS)
· Nanyang Technological University (NTU) or
· Singapore Management University (SMU)
on scholarships or bursaries that the universities administer.
Value of Award
· Exemption from school and examination fees
· Annual allowance of S$2,200 / approx RM5,000 (secondary) or S$2,400 / approx RM5,500 (Pre-University)
· Accommodation (board & lodging)
· Return transport allowance to and from Singapore (one time)
· Others – including medical benefits, setting-in allowance, etc
Who can Apply
· Nationals of Malaysia
· Secondary One Scholarship – born between 1995 and 1997, studying in Standard 6/Form 1 or its equivalent
· Secondary Three Scholarship – born between 1993 and 1995, studying in Form 2/Form 3 or its equivalent
· Pre-University Scholarship – born between 1991 and 1993, studying in Form 5 or equivalent. Those who have completed the SPM or the GCE ‘O’ levels in 2008 with excellent results may also apply

· Applicants are strongly encouraged to apply online at http://www.moe.gov.sg/education/scholarships/asean from 1 March 2009 (0600 hrs) ~ 11 April 2009 (2200 hrs)
