1st of June 2008 is our 1st year anniversary. We celebrated it at Taman Sari Restaurant located in Hotel Istana, Jalan Raja Chulan, Kuala Lumpur.

We get to know the place from a TV series called Jalan-Jalan Cari Makan (JJCM) by TV3.

According to JJCM, Taman Sari Restaurant provided Hi-Tea buffet from 1:30 PM until 5:30 PM with the cost of RM 47.00 per person. The Hi-Tea buffet is only open during the weekend.

Unfortunately, when we went there yesterday, the Hi-Tea buffet is serve from 1:30 PM until only 4:00 PM. Furthermore we where charged RM 110.00 which is equivalent to RM 55.00 per person and this exclude the 10% Service Charge and 5% Govt Tax.

The information provided by TV3 Jalan-Jalan Cari Makan contradicts with what we have experienced.

Anyway, we had a wonderful time having Hi-Tea there. The foods were great. The foods were mainly local foods with some international foods like Sushi and Western foods.

There were nasik lemak, all kind of laksa from laksa Sarawak to laksa Johor, varieties of noodles, satay, rojak, rojak buah, salads, chicken rice, lontong, ice kacang (ABC), seafoods, crab, fish soup, tea tarik, nescafe tarik and many others.… but what I love most is the baked prawn with cheese.



There were also varieties of local and international desserts from pulut seri muka to cheese cakes, pudding and many others.

We did not have much time enjoying the buffet, as they were punctual at cleaning up the restaurant. At 4:00 PM the staff starts cleaning-up the foods. If not due to the time limitation, we will still be enjoying our foods. Fulfilling our stomach needs :) .

Hotel Istana basement parking is slightly expensive. The 1st hour is RM 6.00, the 2nd and subsequent hours are RM 4.00. Flat parking rate is given to customers staying in Hotel Istana. We stayed there for 1½ hour, the parking had cost us RM 10.00.
